Tell me you’re an autism mom, without telling me you’re an autism mom.

It's 4:15 in the afternoon, and you are bracing yourself wondering which version of your child will be walking through the door … Will they be coming in hot, ready to rumble or running to their room and slamming the door shut?

On cue, your child swings the door open, throws their bookbag on the floor, tells you to leave them alone (even though you have not said a word), and starts opening and closing the refrigerator looking for a snack.

You tell yourself to stay calm, but you can feel your anger and frustration rising and, before you realize it, you are off to the races:

How was your day?

Don’t talk to me that way!

Keep it up, and you lose your phone/tablet/gaming device!

And, just like that, you have poured fuel on a fire that burns for the next 2 hours.

You are kicking yourself because you know you are supposed to stay calm, you know that your child is dysregulated, and you know that meltdowns are not teachable moments.

You spend your sleepless nights searching for solutions to prevent meltdowns.

You beat yourself up for losing your temper; and

You vow to yourself that you will STAY CALM the next time.

But all of the information and good intentions fall apart when you are in the moment.

When your 5 year old is kicking and hitting you;

When your 9 year old is punching holes through the walls of his room (again);

When your 17 year old is telling you to “shut up” while blaming you for not doing “enough” for them.

Instead of just “staying calm”, you are losing it.

And after a few hundred times of running this cycle, you are drowning in guilt, telling that if you just knew the “right” thing to do this wouldn’t be happening, and believing that you are the only parent who can’t seem to figure this out, no matter what you do or how hard you try.

Rinse and Repeat.

Here's what almost every other autism resource gets wrong: it's aimed at controlling your child's behavior, as if meltdowns were defiance you could prevent by being stricter or calmer in the moment.

They're neurological, which means you can't control your child's nervous system any more than anyone can control someone else's, but you can learn to regulate yours first, and when you do, you become the steady presence that helps your child come back down faster.

MAP Live is a 90-minute live workshop where you build your own personalized Meltdown Action Plan centered on your own regulation rather than your child's compliance, step by step, alongside me, a practicing attorney, certified life coach, and solo autism mom of 18 years who has coached over 100 parents through exactly this.

What's Inside

Your trigger map

You'll identify what's actually getting activated in you when your child melts down, so you can catch it before it takes over.

Your before-the-meltdown toolkit.

The specific regulation technique you'll practice and default to, built around your real triggers rather than a generic breathing exercise.

Your during-the-meltdown script.

Exactly what to do, and what to stop doing, in the moment, live.

Your after-the-meltdown reset.

How you release the stress that's built up in you so you're not primed to blow up at the next small thing.

Who is this for

  • You're a parent of an autistic child, ages 5 to 18, who melts down, shuts down, or becomes aggressive, and you freeze in the moment more often than you'd like.

  • You've tried the generic parenting advice, like setting boundaries and enforcing consequences, and it’s only made things worse.

  • You spend hours and days after the meltdown is over replaying it in your brain, spinning in guilt, and searching for more solutions.

  • You want to leave with a plan built for your child in 90 minutes, not another article to read alone later.

  • You're able to show up live, since this is built for you to leave with your plan already done, not to watch it happen to someone else afterward.

What Clients Are Saying

"It was the mindset that I needed to help my son. I was depressed and at my lowest, thinking, 'I'm a bad mom, I can't help him.' After working with Lisa, I know how to help him through it, and I don't take it personal anymore. I'm looking forward now rather than backwards."

Cindy D, mom of a 10-year-old son

"I have a new confidence in my ability to parent. My feelings of guilt were leading me to act in a way that wasn't to my son's benefit. Lisa helped me let go of any self-judgment and focus on what is best for him."

Rachael E, mom of a 7-year-old son

"I'm able to be more present for my son and have more fun together. I was at my wit's end with my emotions and frustrations. Lisa had all the practical answers and challenged my thoughts in a way that felt really productive."

Jamie F, mom of a 5-year-old son

About Lisa

I'm Lisa Candera, a practicing attorney, certified life coach, and solo mom to a teen with severe autism and OCD. I've spent 18 years in the autism parenting trenches and have coached over 100 moms through theirs.

For years, my plan was to out-research, out-resource, and out-run autism, because I believed that if I just did enough, my son would be okay. Enough never came, and I spent a long time co-escalating right along with him, ashamed of how I reacted.

That's how a lawyer became The Autism Mom Coach.

I don't teach you how to fix your kid. I teach you how to regulate yourself first, so you can be the steady, grounded presence your kid needs, even in the hardest moments.

Frequently Asked Question

Is this live or a recording?

It's live, and everyone who registers gets the full replay.. Attending live still matters, since that's where you get real-time coaching on your own situation.

Is this for my child's specific age or diagnosis?

This session is built for parents of autistic children ages 5 to 18, including kids who've aged into young adulthood. Comorbidities expected!

If your child is younger or older than that, this may not be the right fit yet.

Will 90 minutes really be enough to build a real plan?

You'll leave with a real first draft built around your child's actual patterns, and it's a living plan you can keep refining rather than a finished product you never touch again.
